Day 13 Amber Latona BLOG

Today was a really good day!
In the morning I came up with questions to ask for my blog challenge.
Today, we had a lunch for the new graduate students and we all had pizza.
After lunch, Chas and I worked on our project some more. We heated Yttrium Oxide (Y2O3) to 800 degrees in a furnace. Afterwards, we weighed and grinded Y2O3, Mn2O3, and In2O3. We added ethanol to these compounds as well.
Then, we started to press our pellets. Another grad student helped us with this. We pressed two black pellets and two yellow-white pellets. We also did some more calculations.
Tomorrow we are going to press the rest of the pellets.
We are still waiting for the furnace to be plugged into the wall, and then we can get started with heating the pellets to see if my results are accurate. :)
